Empowering educators for ELL success

The Creative Literacy Hub is passionate about providing educators with the resources they need to create inclusive and effective learning environments for ELLs. This website offers a wealth of ideas, from teaching strategies to lesson plan inspiration, designed to bridge language gaps and foster academic growth in a creative and engaging way.

Alberta Education’s (2024) Guide to Education Framework states that ELL students require a learning environment that honors their home language and culture. Ground in this policy my commitment and professional teaching philosophy centers on providing elementary teachers creative and innovative resources that build foundational literacy skills while validating and honoring their cultural backgrounds.

Language instruction involves having students being engaged with a variety of texts to offer students opportunities to expand their thinking beyond their personal experiences. As Alberta Education (2023) outlines that English language arts aims to spark imaginations, inspire a love for learning, and an appreciation and understanding of others. I created The Creative Literacy Hub to translate this mandate into actional, ready to use strategies that can empower both teachers and multilingual learners.
